Just some thoughts and ideas going around in my head while trying to figure out where I am and where everyone else is going.

Joe the Plumber

Just a word.

Who is Joe the plumber? How much of a cliche is that name? Is he real? Or is he just a fictional friend that McCain just made up to help bolster up his campaign and how much money does he actually make, real or imagined?

For the first time ever, I have actually watched all of the debates, both presidential and vice-presidential. I have listened to what both candidates have listed as the issues and their policies in solving them and the only thing that I can think about or remember is Joe the plumber. The highlight of the whole affair.

Actually I used to know a Joe the plumber when I worked at a hospital, but he died recently. Before he died, people would joke about him because of his name. It was source of much amusement for some, you know those who had no real sense of humor or have 3 brain cells that could work in optimum unity. Now Joe lives again.

I'm starting to feel that I'm over all of this election thing now.

  2. Darius - You and the rest of the world. I think I heard today he was a guy that didn't even have a plumber's license. In other words a typical Republican getting ahead thinking the rules don't apply to him.

  3. We are so in the same boat here. This is the first time that I have been watching all the debates and crap.
I was wondering who the hell Joe the Plumber was, since it sounded like such a generic name. Like John Q. Public. LOL. But there is a Joe the Plumber. I bald headed white guy who spoke to Barack Obama and felt like he was getting the short end of the stick if he opened his own business. Big deal.

What I am trying to understand is why Joe the Plumbers plight, all of a sudden, becomes more important than mines and there rest of worlds.

  4. One Man - Don't you know that since Joe's taxes are going to be increased, that means he must make over a quarter million dollars a year and so according to McCain he represents all of us.

I don't know about you, but I think I must have misplaced quarter million this year.

  5. Curious...right you'd have to make a quarter of a million...that's make it not that your business is worth that...but actually bring home that. Not only does Joe not have a license he also doesn't have a plumbing business. He's just a plumber who would like to have his own business. Also, from what I understand those additional taxes they pay are not going to be that much more...That's how these politians get you by leaving out some of the details. Thank God for Good Morning America to set the record straight. slthough I think sometimes they are biased.

  6. D - Politicians say what they say only because most peoplehear only what they want to hear and then they turn around and vote for their own kind, whatever kind that is. How else can you explain someone like "W" getting into the White House twice.

  7. Not Joe the Plummer! I could not get it for a minute then just last night I was tuning into some late night program and finally I get it. Fucking Politicans.

  8. Chet - That's what makes it all so exciting and good for TV ratings. Life and those who decide the way you live it, have just become one big entertainment value to be controlled by others who really don't care about you.
