Just some thoughts and ideas going around in my head while trying to figure out where I am and where everyone else is going.

Folsom Street East 2008

People will often look at me and say they don't believe me when I tell them that most of my free time is spent at home doing absolutely nothing. They tell me that they can't believe that I'm not out partying with the hoi polloi or meeting and greeting with the young and beutiful and the elite. But I don't. Actually, I'm a kind of a reserved person who doesn't mind being myself at times. In fact, I think I'm going to admit, I'm sort of shy. I don't like to draw attention to myself. That is unless a point needs to be made and I need to be the one who does it.

On Sunday in betwee the rains, I wanted to do something different, so I went to New York and attended the Folsom Street East Fair. This was a first time for me and I think by the pictures that I took, I finally proved to myself just how shy I am.

You'll notice that most of the pictures are of people looking away or their backs. I didn't even have the guts to ask anyone to stand, pose and look at me while I took their pictures, and these are people, some of them, who were just walking around begging for attention in a pair of boots and prince alberts hanging from the tip of their dicks. These were the best I could do.

Anyway, I wanted to see if people of color attended big leather events like this and apparently they do. Although, there were not that many women and that sort of saddened me. There could have been more but I only remeber seeing 2 Asian women and 3 black women, of which 2 of them looked like they were more butch than me so I didn't want to bother them so I only got this picture and she was working in a booth.

I wonder what I'll do next year, or even the rest of this year.

  2. Dusty - The real Folsom Street is in SF like you said, and from what I've seen much wilder. But Folsom Street East is on W28th St in NYC. And you may know, the Big Apple never likes to be out done by anybody.

  3. I always got that you were shy. I know I don't know you, KNOW you, but your pic here gives that impression. I love the pictures you took and glad you did not get people to pose. I love the candid shot. They are always the best. Hum, that one guy was wearing nothing at all. Where is the mystery in that? LOL

  4. OMO - Mystery? Mystery is for Alfred Hitchcock. These fellows were out there to be see and be seen in all their glory and I'm not sure i was able to capture it because of whatever it is that holds me back. Anyway, I'm glad that, like me, you don't really like that goofy looking posed shot that a lot of people like to do.

  5. Those are cool pics. The black man in the second picture with the leather vest on could get it. LOL.

    He just looks like he'd be great in bed AND smells good. (Don't ask)

  6. Blkseagoat - Don't worry. I'm not sure I want to ask. My imagination is working overtime now just thinking about it.

  8. Lola - I didn't know you were interested. If I had we could have gone and torn that place up.

  9. I like the candid shots too. More voyeuristic. Guess cuz I'm kinda shy too...unless the situation calls for me to step up.

  10. D - So now you're calling me a Peeping Tom? LOL. Actually, I've never liked posed shots. Most of them end up looking goofy and staged, but I think with a bunch of people who were looking for a spotlight, maybe that type of picture may have worked out and I failed to take advantage of it.

  11. I'dda went. Never even heard of it and ...I live in New York AND originally from the bay area.
    Wack.

    *I secretly like leather...sshhhh*

  12. Blah, Blah, Blah - Living in both of the cities where the fair is held and not knowing about either of them? Priceless. In a good way that is.

    But there is no shame to liking leather. In fact if you grew up like I did looking at Emma Peel on The Avengers on TV, it's actually a right of passage. So get that corset and stilettoes ready for next year and we'll go together.

  13. Curious;

    Hey Kiddo!

    I understand your "blight?" being shy. I too was once PAINFULLY shy.
    I couldn't even be around other people.Then one day I did what you did; prodded myself a little to get outside. From there things started to turn for me. Slowly I took more steps and as I did I got more confident being around people. I soon discovered I LOVED being around people! They are a multitude of facsinations!
    So just continue to prod yourself at your own confortable pace, and you too will experience unbelievable growth! (You'll even value your "alone" time more!)
    How do I know this?
    I was once Painfully shy.
    Today, I am the naked guy in your picture!

  14. BTW;

    There were hundreds of pics and videos taken of me that day (I stumble across them here and there)and I have to say that yours captured the intimacy of the moment and everything I hoped to express.

    Thanks.

  15. Octarr - Wow, I have to say thank you for dropping by and an even bigger thank you for your advice and compliment. I'm glad you thought the picture captured something other nakedness which is what I was hoping for.
